Supplementary power from movement, where cables and sunlight fall short.
Gravity Energy develops a patented mechanical energy-harvesting technology that turns the natural sway of masts and poles into electricity for low-power applications.
Where it fits
Path and outdoor lighting, lighting columns, flagpoles, remote sensors and wireless monitoring, marine and environmental monitoring, agricultural monitoring and other outdoor installations. The technology is designed to complement solar power and batteries: extra energy at night, in winter and in shade, extending operating time and reducing battery replacement.
What it delivers
Measured: microwatt level on a 1 m prototype at wind force 3. Modelled: milliwatt level on a 4 m mast in the same wind. That is enough for an LED that switches on when someone passes, sensors and wireless nodes. It is not intended for grid supply. Actual yield depends on mast height, wind conditions and application.
Where we are
A working prototype has been completed with TU Delft (KIEM funding) and has been demonstrated in a wooden outdoor lamp post. We are now moving towards application-specific field pilots.
Pilots
We are looking for industrial and technology partners for paid field pilots. Each pilot covers prototype integration, performance measurement against a solar reference, and testing under real conditions. Pilot partners can take a time-limited preferred position within their product category.
